After 10 years as a deep-sea ship engineer, Mitch Boyd originally formed The Lokes in Hermosa Beach with 8-Ball Abbie in November 2023. He found that all the rock band cliches of "sex, drugs, and rock&roll" were true. Since then, the band continued on while Mitch recovered from injuries sustained while serving the US Merchant Marine. With no choice & what felt like destiny calling, he leaned further into the band while undergoing complications from Celiac Disease. The pains of life, a career at sea, and the drama in running a rock band fueled his lyrics and drive.

Once back to full form. With Sandlot Studios, Hermosa Sound Labs, and Producer Zeal Levin of Triple Bueno- The Lokes released two Foo Fighter cover songs Everlong & Times Like These in Spring 2026. Shortly after, original singles "Survive" & "Lifetime Ago(feat. Sophia Elena)". Finally, their self-titled debut album Summer 2026.

With influences from Zeppelin to Matchbox 20 to Yungblud, The Lokes are at the forefront to bring rock bands back to mainstream, and are a revolution against AI, auto-tune and other crutches used by in-authentic musicians. Pure Rock & pure grit.
